About this piece:
prone was inspired by the acquisition of a (still working!) cardiac pacemaker.
The pacemaker supplies a tiny signal which stimulates a small solenoid
under the plate of water. The light shining on the plate of water reflects
on the wall, pulsating sympathetically. The placement of the lens, which
focusses the light, also projects the image of the lightbulb onto the
plate. This work was revised in 2000: the light source is now suspended,
less earthbound.
